Scott Hanselman points us to a nice demonstration of the use of the Office research task pane.

MyST Technology Partners have built an Office Research Service to access all content from the aggregation of RD blogs. You add it to your Research Pane, with things like the Dictionary and Encyclopedia. You can also right click on a word within Word and "Lookup" that word in a list of blogs.

I have tried it out with the keyword sharepoint but was very dissappointed to only got one futile response from the RDs. Seems they are not busy with this. SOA of course returns more results. Time to have an RD who evangelizes SharePoint and Office smart client technologies :-).
