Today, Microsoft and U2U start here in Belgium with the IBF/Office-engagement program for the ISVs. An ISV is an independent solution vendor and the goal of Microsoft is to make them aware of the new opportunities they have to leverage the Microsoft Office 2003 platform and the Information Bridge Framework as a smart client platform for their solutions and services. 20 ISVs join the program and the first step is a 2-day technical awareness session to get the developers up-and-running with the latest Office smart client such as XML integration, InfoPath, smart docs, research pane, VSTO and of course IBF. Around 40 participants in the room, so that is going to be lots of fun! After the two days, they have to submit a business case they will have to work out in a POC. In two weeks, we then start coaching each of these ISVs in delivering their POC and hopefully by the end of January next year, we will have 20 additional nice business cases here in Belgium to demonstrate on the Developer Days. December is going to be fun I guess!
