Day 1 here in Vegas was excellent. It started with two keynotes that promised a lot looking at their titles ('the future of technology' - 'SharePoint, counting two years') but the content was mainly an overview of the current status of SharePoint. No real secrets were revealed :-). I attended Ted Pattison's session on Web parts which was very well delivered. It was a good overview of the basic steps of building Web parts with lots of code and very entertaining. In the afternoon it was my turn and given the feedback I am very happy about the delivery. The topic was SharePoint lists and document libraries and I basically covered the different ways and scenarios to create them and programmatically access them. I decided to use a list filled with data on Belgian beers instead of the typical dummy data and that was appreciated. I should find some Belgian beer for my last session tomorrow to give away as prices :-).

In the evening I went to the 'strip' in Vegas together with Mike Fitzmaurice and Ted Pattison. Vegas in the evenings is really amazing. We had good food (actually russian food) and did some gambling.

Today I will skip the morning sessions and do some prepping for the InfoPath session this afternoon. It seems that people expect a lot from it since it is the only InfoPath session here. So, my demos should be compelling... let's work on it :-)
