Today, I received a mail from Microsoft that it will discontinue uddi.microsoft.com. The UDDI (Universal Discovery, Description and Integration) node will be permanently unavailable for all operations beginning January 12, 2006. For the folks who have no idea what UDDI was all about, think of it as the yellow pages for Web services. Providers of Web services can advertise their stuff and consumers can use UDDI to search for services they want to use in their apps. All of it of course following standards.
