Today I have delivered a 'SharePoint Technical Training' here at the Microsoft sub in Dublin, Ireland. I like to come to Ireland - it is definitely one of my favourite countries. And no, it is not only because they have the best beer in the world! We had the morning talking about WSS and SPS 2003 and after a nice presentation by the Commvault people about their solutions, I talked and demonstrated MOSS 2007 beta 2. Loads of questions on CMS vNext and the integration in SharePoint. This is definitely going to be the big story in the next version of SharePoint. I feel that a lot of people stayed away of CMS 2002 the last years just because there was no integration with SharePoint. In MOSS 2007, you will definitely see that integration and it is certainly one of the reasons why a lot of organizations will make the move to the next version. Not really a CMS 2002 fan myself, I really do like the integration in SharePoint and I think it is going to be a hot topic the next coming months. I have 3 whitepapers for MSDN on the to-do list before the end of June - meaning that I will have to dig in all of the little details (luckily with the support of the product team). I will definitely approach all of this from a SharePoint perspective and I think that is the best approach since it has changed that much compared with the CMS 2002 version.

Staying at the Beacon hotel here in Sandyford - nice hotel by the way, very modern and there is a lounge with good music. This hotel is certainly on my list of favourites from now on. Next mission is a tour in Sweden next week. Going to visit three cities in three days delivering a mini-version of the Office Developers Conference. I am looking forward to Sweden - hopefully I get some good weather and have the opportunitity to see something more of the country.

Now time for the event of the day... Ireland playing against Chili! Ireland did not make it also to the world-cup, so as a Belgian, I sympathize with them :)
