Yesterday I delivered my first sessions with the MOSS RTM version in Oslo. Basically, I talked about InfoPath 2007, Forms Server and the Business Data Catalog. Office Forms Server works like a charm in RTM but I had a problem with the Business Data Catalog giving me an error when uploading one of the application definition files (AdventureWorks demo). It gave an error at the level of the FilterDescriptor indicating that ExactMatch is not supported. Having all my previous BDC work done always with ExactMatch I kind of was anxious about it. But it seems that I missed the posting by Nick Swan a couple of weeks ago posting that the ExactMatch is now obsolete. It was still allowed by the XSD in the technical refresh but now it is out of it and therefore, importing application definition files with ExactMatch will fail (unless you add it again to the enumerator of the XSD :) - and yes the BDC Web Parts still recognize it). Instead of ExactMatch, you use the Comparison filtering pattern. Small detail, but necessary with RTM!
Learned something this morning! Now getting back to finishing that chapter on the BDC.
